I Quit My DevOps Project Manager Job to Build an AI‑First Business

Here is the story and the weekly newsletter I am writing as I build it.

I quit my DevOps Project Manager job after 15 years to build my own products with the same discipline I used to run teams and infrastructure.

I spent most of my career shipping for other people. The uncomfortable truth was obvious: if I had put that same energy into my own work, I’d be much further ahead. My wife opened her medspa two years ago, and watching her build from scratch made it clear it was my turn.

So I’m all‑in on AI — not as a toy, as a real operating system. I run OpenClaw on a Mac Studio and use an agent fleet to cover core DevOps work. I train those agents with Agile and ITIL practices, keep scope tight, and document everything so handoffs don’t break.

The goal is simple: ship fast, fix fast, and own the outcome.

The first product: GlowScript

GlowScript is a practice management platform built specifically for med spas. It centralizes clients, scheduling, charting, consents, photos, and compliance — including GFE and consent tracking — and integrates with partners like Shopify and SpaKinect.

It’s not a bloated all‑in‑one. It’s a focused operating system built to outperform platforms like Zenoti and Boulevard by doing the core workflows exceptionally well. Niche on purpose — and only the beginning.

The messy reality

I’ve reinstalled OpenClaw more than once. The fastest fixes came from a fresh set of eyes digging into the files and spotting what I missed. That’s the truth of shipping: you document, you tighten, and you keep moving.

This is the kind of behind‑the‑scenes reality I want to share.

The newsletter

I’m starting a weekly newsletter about building real products in real time. No recycled advice. No theory. Just the tools, workflows, and decisions — what’s working, what’s breaking, and why.

If you care about execution more than hype, this is for you: founders, operators, PMs, builders, and small business owners who want to ship and scale with AI.
